Dr. Laura A. Gorski, M.D., is a leading Obstetrician-Gynecologist & Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist, who practices at the High-Risk Pregnancy Center, with offices in Las Vegas, Reno, and Henderson, Nevada.<\/p>\n

In her current role at the High-Risk Pregnancy Center, Dr. Gorski carries out the majority of the chorionic villus sampling procedures for the practice, of which she is fellowship-trained in. The procedure is an advanced prenatal test, whereby a small sample of cells is taken from the placenta to check if the baby has a genetic or chromosomal condition, such as Down\u2019s syndrome, Patau\u2019s syndrome or Edwards\u2019 syndrome.\u00a0Dr. Gorski is one of just two physicians in the state of Nevada who can carry out this procedure.<\/p>\n

Dr. Gorski is on call for high-risk pregnancy deliveries and works closely with physicians and sonographers regarding the risks their pregnant patients are faced with. Licensed to practice in Nevada, Dr. Gorski can be found on staff at St. Rose Hospitals, Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center, Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and Valley Hospitals UMC.<\/p>\n

Always having a fascination with the miracle of life and particularly birth, Dr. Gorski is passionate about the work she does and strives to build good relationships with her patients and their families. She opted to specialize in Maternal-Fetal medicine to help women with increased risks have healthy pregnancies and outcomes. As a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Gorski\u2019s role is to look after the mother and fetus prior, during and after pregnancy. This can often include caring and supporting women who are faced with unexpected issues that can arise during pregnancy, such as, high blood pressure, bleeding, and early labor.<\/p>\n

Dr. Gorski earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, Then, in 1994, she completed her Doctor of Osteopathy degree Magna Cum Laude at the Kansas City Osteopathic School of Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. For additional training in 1999, she carried out her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. In 2000, Dr. Gorski completed two fellowships in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the\u00a0University of Tennessee Memphis\u00a0School of Medicine in\u00a0Memphis, Tennessee and then the second one was in 2002 at the Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

As a result of her academic career, Dr. Gorski is board-certified in Nevada to practice Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Maternal-Fetal medicine sub-specialty by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG provides board certification to qualified Obstetricians and Gynecologists and facilitates continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women\u2019s health.<\/p>\n

To ensure she remains aware of latest developments in the field, Dr. Gorski has professional affiliations with the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the Clark County Medical Society, the Nevada State Medical Association, the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians & Gynecologists, and the American Osteopathic Association.<\/p>\n

Her accolades include being named Top 10 Doctor \u2013 Neighborhood in 2014, as well as receiving the Patients\u2019 Choice Award in 2008 and 2009. In 2012, Dr. Gorski appeared on The Morning Blend and was interviewed by LV Woman Magazine in 2014. In 2021, ProNews did a profile feature on her and more recently, she\u2019s been recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Physician for her work in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine field and in acknowledgment of her work at the High-Risk Pregnancy Center.\u00a0Additionally, she has been featured in a program called \u2018Amazing Births\u2019 aired on the Discovery Channel.<\/p>\n

When she\u2019s not looking after her patients, Dr. Gorski makes sure that she enjoys life to the fullest with her family and four children.<\/p>\n
