Dr. Litzinger, a seasoned healthcare professional, now serves as the Clinic Medical Director for Carbon Health Urgent Care in Westminster, Colorado. With years of experience and a passion for advancing healthcare, Dr. Litzinger is dedicated to providing top-tier care and fostering innovation in his role.
Previously, Dr. Litzinger worked as a nurse practitioner with Northern Arizona Healthcare, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing patient care systems. His responsibilities included collaborating with clinic providers, driving improvements in electronic medical records, and streamlining the onboarding process for new providers to ensure seamless integration into the organization. Early in his career, Dr. Litzinger gained a wealth of experience as a provider informatics consultant, a charge nurse with the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, and as a clinical adjunct faculty member at the Community College of Allegheny County and Yavapai College. These roles helped lay the foundation for his distinguished career in healthcare.
Committed to staying current with industry advancements, Dr. Litzinger maintains active membership in esteemed organizations such as the Arizona Nurses Association, the Golden Key International Honor Society, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. He has a strong educational background, earning an associate degree in nursing from the Community College of Allegheny County, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Slippery Rock University, a master’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Leadership from Aspen University. Additionally, Dr. Litzinger has attained numerous certifications through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Chamberlain College of Nursing, underscoring his dedication to professional development.
Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Litzinger is most proud of earning his doctoral degree and contributing valuable research on the use of telemedicine to improve access to healthcare in rural communities. His success is fueled by his passion for helping others, the unwavering support of his husband, and his deep interest in both mathematics and science.
Looking to the future, Dr. Litzinger hopes to take on a hybrid role that combines leadership and clinical responsibilities to drive meaningful, system-wide change in healthcare. He also aims to publish his dissertation, further sharing his insights and research to benefit the medical community.
