Maureen MoonMassage & Spinal Reflex Therapy

Maureen Moon has over 30 years of experience in massage therapy and  training in a variety of reflex therapies.

Ms. Moon graduated with honors from The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), in Milwaukee, WI. She started her early days in the massage therapy field at the Sheraton in Steamboat Springs, CO, as the primary massage therapist and practitioner. There she gained great experience massaging the many visiting skiers and local clientele. Ms. Moon then moved her practice to the Denver/Boulder area where she worked at an athletic club for 21 years, and an assistant manager for 6 years.  During her time there she assisted in creating the chair massage program which was set up in the lobby at the club. It became very successful in attracting people who did not have the time for a full-body massage, but could treat themselves to a 10-30 minute chair massage.

In 2007 Ms. Moon left to focus on her Massage & Spinal Reflex Therapy (SRT) Practice.  Ms. Moon got her Masters in SRT and joined the Spinal Reflex Therapy International Company Organization, as a core distributor and certified practitioner and instructor.  She has assisted teaching SRT in CO, TN, IA, & OH as well as a Touch For Health Kinesiology Instructor, having taught in CO, NV, IL, AZ and Holland from 1982-2010.

Ms. Moon’s specialties include CranioSacral Therapy, Sports Massage, Corporate Massage (On-site) Chair/Table Massage), Pregnancy Massage and Hot-Stone Massage.  Maureen likes to incorporate Orthopedic Massage into her sessions as well as Active, Passive and Facilitated Stretching.

Ms. Moon likes to focus her sessions into an experience which facilitates health and wellness by incorporating neurological soft-tissue techniques. Soft tissue techniques guarantee results and are predictable and dependable, relieve pain, increase flexibility & range of motion and even strength muscles.  Maureen combines 1/2 hour SRT treatments, which are designed to stop acute and chronic pain and joint dysfunction by changing the nerve and even muscle strength, in combination with her massage therapy sessions.

Ms. Moon served as a Past-President of the AMTA as well as on the AMTA National Board in different areas for 15 years total since 1990.  She has also served on the AMTA CO Chapter Board as Director of Education for 2 years, 2nd VP/Membership Chair for 4 years, and Event Sports Massage Team Director for 3 years. Ms. Moon has received several honors from the American Massage Therapy Association, including the Distinguished Service Award, the Meritorious Award and the Sports Massage Achiever Award in 2006. In 2010, the American Massage Therapy Association presented her with the National President’s Award.

When Maureen isn’t at the office she is often volunteering her massage services for various fund raisers or submerging herself in her music as a jazz and blues singer, percussionist, and classical guitarist.
