Crystal Grace Rutherford has been recognized for her dedication, achievements, and outstanding leadership in Medical Law.
Ms. Rutherford grew up in Spain during the dictatorship of Francisco Franco. As a result of this, she has maintained a lifelong passion for upholding the importance of the law and civil rights.
In the early 1990s, she achieved a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Washington where she studied brain injuries. However, she opted to steer away from medicine and clinical psychology, in favor of a career in legal service, so attended the University of Oregon’s School of Law, where she earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence. Then in 1997, Ms. Rutherford began to practice law after being admitted to the Washington State Bar.
Throughout her remarkable career, Ms. Rutherford has represented individuals who have received serious injuries often involving the brain as a result of other people’s negligence. After gaining valuable experience in the field of medical law as an associate with both David Vogel PLLC and with Badgley Mullins PLLC, she became the owner of the Law Office of Crystal Grace Rutherford, until she changed the firm’s name to Excelsior Law, PLLC in 2018.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Rutherford has received numerous accolades, including being awarded with a Special Appreciation Award for her work in the Civil Rights Section of the Washington State Trial Lawyers. She has also been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for her dedication and accomplishments in the field.
To remain up to date with changes in jurisprudence in Washington, Ms. Rutherford is a member of the Washington State and American Associations for Justice. In the future, Ms. Rutherford hopes to help more people who have had their lives turned upside down because of injuries that could have been prevented. In addition to this, she aspires to continue to be an advocate for the Latinx community.
