gENERAL SURGERY
Dr. Donald G. Sebesta, M.D., is an expert in Surgical Services and has amassed over five decades of experience as a surgeon. When he was younger, Dr. Sebesta worked at a vet’s surgery and shadowed a vet who performed animal surgery. During this time, he suggested that he’d like to become a vet surgeon one day but was advised to go into human surgery as he was “too smart” to become an animal surgeon. Following this advice, Dr. Sebasta decided to pursue a career in Medicine.
During his education, Dr. Sebesta studied for his Doctor of Medicine at Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1963. Following this, he attended Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, completing his Internship in 1964. To finalize his education and training, Dr. Sebesta undertook a Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in 1968.
Dr. Sebesta is currently working as a surgeon at North Valley Hospital and has been fulfilling this position for the past 49 years. Throughout the day, Dr. Sebesta upholds a number of responsibilities, including performing complicated surgeries, overseeing the clinic and providing exceptional perioperative care.
Founded in 1983, The North Valley Hospital has an extensive history that includes caring for patients over several decades. The hospital takes pride in providing exceptional care for both patients and families and their ethos is based around accountability, trust, diversity, viability and integrity.
To ensure he keeps up to date with relevant developments and shares his knowledge with his peers, Dr. Sebesta is a member of several professional associations, including the American College of Surgeons, The American Health Council and the Washington State Medical Association.
Over his 56 years in the healthcare industry, Dr. Sebesta has enjoyed numerous successes, including being Board Certified in General Surgery. He attributes his successful career to excellent parenting, encouraging mentors and complete dedication.
Looking into the future, Dr. Sebesta’s work-related goals include developing and mentoring future surgeons.
When not at work, Dr. Sebesta enjoys hunting and writing. He also enjoys traveling the globe with his wife.
